On first impression, many new visitors to the high desert see only a landscape that appears empty and somewhat desolate. However, additional experience quickly reveals quiet beauty and infinite variety. This is a region of cerulean blue skies, sudden weather changes, and the rich marks left by the peoples whose descendants still live here. It is a privilege for me to share a small part this special place and its visual stories through my photography.

I am a retired academic who is privileged to live in Santa Fe, New Mexico with my wife, two dogs, and a cat. After a long career at several institutions, I now enjoy increased time for making photographs, travel, trying to learn Spanish, and absorbing as much as I can about archaeoastronomy. I am also committed to a second career as a regional tour guide for Off the Beaten Path LLC, sharing my love for the high desert with friends and fellow travelers.
I record high resolution photographic images digitally, then process them using a variety of software applications. Final images are printed and framed using archival papers and pigments to ensure permanent quality. Both framed and unframed prints and note cards are available for purchase.
